Hash Rate: The Security Shield
August 10, 20254 min read

Hash rate is the measure of the total computational power securing the Bitcoin network. A higher hash rate means the network is more secure against 51% attacks.
The Cost of Attack
With the current hash rate, an attacker would need to acquire billions of dollars worth of specialized hardware and secure massive amounts of electricity to even attempt an attack. And even then, they could only disrupt the network for a short time, not steal funds.
Global Distribution
Mining is now distributed globally, from the US to Paraguay, Bhutan to El Salvador. This geographic decentralization makes the network robust against geopolitical risks.
